Proctor & Gamble (P&G) is very well recognized for its thought leadership and success in adopting Open Innovation. For their internal open innovation strategy (also called Connect & Develop), P&G uses AskMe to reach out to right people within the organization to solicit new ideas as well as receive feedback on technical feasibility and marketing insights for new ideas.

As an example, the "Swiffer" teams were developing new accessories for the blockbuster "Swiffer" product line. The R&D team used AskMe to solicit new ideas, technology re-use opportunities from across the company. Within a matter of hours, over 50 qualified ideas were generated from scientists, engineers from other product divisions as well as marketing groups across the company.
