Knowledge workers with critical expertise are an integral part of an Employee Knowledge Network. They unblock tasks for other employees by providing just-in-time knowledge, they publish lessons learned and identify key advancements that should be applied across the organization, and they create a knowledgebase that prevents them, and their colleagues, from answering the same questions over and over again.

Each employee on the system has access to a Personal Profile Manager, which details their background, education, projects worked on, memberships, etc. They have full control to edit and modify this profile. In addition, AskMe Enterprise comes equipped with plug-ins to HR databases, LDAP directories, and other sources of employee information to dynamically augment the user entered profile. Furthermore, every time a knowledge provider answers a question or adds a publication to the system, AskMe Enterprise automatically updates their profile to account for any new areas of expertise present in these contributions.

Some organizations may choose to augment the Personal Profile Manager with the Automatic Profile Engine.This engine automatically identifies keywords that best describe an employee's expertise by mining documents and, optionally, e-mails that they have authored.

An expert's profile page contains information on their education, work history, projects worked on, languages known, etc. These pages are customizable and extensible.

SMEs' profiles can be supplemented by information from HR databases, LDAP directories, and other sources, and these complete profiles are key to matching business problems to the expertise of individual SMEs.

Question Forwarding
