Expertise Location
Search combines both explicit information such as documents and previous solutions with tacit information based on expertise matching.

Expertise matching takes into account the complete expertise profile information as well as qualitative attributes such as availability, previous ratings, response times and expert's workload settings. This approach ensures that search returns precise set of expertise matches for any given query. The system can also be tuned to alter the weights associated with these qualitative attributes.

Federated search
AskMe employs delegate-based federated search model, enabling it to return search results not just from its own knowledgebase, but from third party knowledge repositories as well. AskMe can easily integrate search results and documents stored in document management systems, Microsoft SharePoint, file shares, and homegrown databases.

Advanced search options
AskMe provides many options to narrow down the search results and the search criteria. Advanced search options allow users to narrow down the criteria for expertise search based on specific location, department, designation or community. Similarly knowledge articles can be searched by date, content type, ratings or tags associated with the knowledge article.
