PTC rolls out AskMe Enterprise to its Partner network to further increase the value of PDS Advisor, the company's largest knowledge management site

June 05, 2008 - AskMe Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise knowledge sharing solutions, today announced that Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) has rolled out AskMe Enterprise™ to its Partner network to further increase the value of PDS Advisor, the company's largest knowledge management site, by facilitating greater employee and partner collaboration.

PDS Advisor is focused towards connecting people to knowledge and people to people. Key outcomes of the initiative are: efficiently manage content, facilitate reuse of content, expertise locator and federated search. PDS Advisor reaches out to users in sales, services, support functions and their partner network. These teams are spread across the globe in more than 30 countries servicing 40,000 customers.

PDS Advisor was launched to PTC employees as a pilot in April 2006 and since then the user base within PTC has steadily grown with the pilot being declared a success in September 2006 and PTC purchasing additional user licenses. By January 2007 PTC added the Global Services Business Development Group to PDS Advisor and in November 2007 PTC upgraded PDS Advisor to the latest version of AskMe Enterprise.

In April 2008 PDS Advisor was launched to PTC partners; they now have access to the services group to which they belong. By using PDS Advisor, consultants with Partners now collaborate with knowledge matter experts within PTC as well as other partner consultants and in turn, they are able to service their end customers better and faster.

"An increasing user base of AskMe Enterprise by one of the world's largest product lifecycle management (PLM) company is another indicator that large organizations are making significant investments in knowledge sharing solutions. We believe this proves that AskMe's solution is clearly the best in its category", said Udai Shekawat, CEO for AskMe Corporation.

Once AskMe Enterprise is integrated into a corporate Intranet such as Innovation Net, employees can identify qualified individuals with relevant expertise, submit questions or business problems to individuals and receive solutions from colleagues in order to take immediate and effective actions. Answers and solutions that are transferred via AskMe Enterprise are captured in a knowledgebase so other employees can reuse them in the future.
